The One-Punch Man Series Its Third Season Is Set to Continue (In 2027)

Perhaps the most surprising announcement, the widely-criticized disaster that was the third season of One-Punch Man wasn't enough to halt more episodes. Season 3 will be back with a follow-up batch of episodes in 2027—a date so remote they might as well have dubbed it season 4. Adding to the surprise, the studio J.C. Staff will continue to be in charge. At least this time, helmer Shinpei Nagai is on board to direct from the start, which is seen as a good sign. But, the key visual for the continuation is identical to the one used for season 3, just with protagonists Saitama and Garou facing different directions. This suggests that, by now, they must be mocking the fans.

The Ruri Dragon Series Is Set to Be the Premiere Shonen Jump Anime Produced By Kyoto Animation

Kyoto Animation has established a standing for being an elite animation studio, distinguishing itself not just for the high caliber of its productions but for the good working conditions of its employees—a rarity in the industry. Unexpectedly, until now, it had not produced an anime based on a manga from Shonen Jump, arguably the most iconic magazine in the field. Ruri Dragon will break that tradition, and what a great choice it is. The manga by Masaoki Shindo achieved widespread acclaim when it debuted in 2022 after just a few chapters, but then went into a extended pause due to the creator's health issues. When it came back with a lighter schedule, the series showed it still retained the fans' affection and positive sentiment, and now the community is overjoyed about the forthcoming KyoAni adaptation.

Apparently that was just the initial batch, because a "sequel" has been revealed as in development, and it will very likely air in 2026.

This time, the studio will be handling the adaptation of Tomato Soup's manga A Witch's Life in Mongol, inspired by the true story of Fatima, an powerful woman and scholar in the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. Based on the trailer, the anime titled Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia will have a highly unique and fascinating visual style, which reminds me a bit of Ranking of Kings. Scheduled to launch in July 2026, this one will without a doubt be on my watchlist.
