British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”
