Mohamed Salah Offers Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the team following the controversy from his recent interview.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a vital match subsequent to making accusations and suggesting his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has refused to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
The midfielder also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
Their results have been impressive in the period after the initial controversy. Jones believes the outburst were not intended to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, getting results and securing victories.”
