The former Liverpool manager says a return to manage Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, remarked that a future comeback remains a possibility. Klopp, after a transformative nine-year spell that included a European Cup triumph and the Premier League crown in 30 years, currently occupies positions as head of global soccer within the Red Bull organization and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured England's top flight in the previous campaign, though countless followers holding him in high esteem would welcome the possibility that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he shared with Steven Bartlett: “I stated I refuse to lead another team in England. So that means if then it’s Liverpool...yes. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“I’m 58, that means I might decide down the line, it's uncertain. Must I choose now? Then I will not coach again. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I'll wait and observe what lies ahead.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about what circumstances must arise to draw him back to the dugout, he confessed he isn't eager for a comeback. “I'm not entirely sure, I enjoy my current role,” he commented. “No longing for management; I avoid standing in the rain through long matches; No need for media briefings multiple times weekly or constant media duties weekly.

“I don’t miss the dressing room as a dressing room, yet sharing a meal with the team enjoying conversation, I appreciate that. With many victories so there was often a very good mood around the place. I can still hear Van Dijk's laughter vividly recalled for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

Klopp was full of praise regarding Arne Slot, acknowledging his role for the adjustments which secured the championship last campaign. They've been defeated a string of losses in all competitions after a summer spending spree, yet he dismissed the suggestion of it representing a slump.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker such as Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. He’s an incredible talent. The French striker, incredible player. This is a well-built balanced team. Fans shouldn't fret over the club, they'll bounce back.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling about the death of Jota, a 2020 acquisition while in charge, and its impact at the club. Jota lost his life in a car crash with his brother recently.

“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? It goes beyond his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. I can’t imagine the team environment absent his presence. Putting it into words is tough about it. A profound tragedy for the entire squad as well. No one within the club might employ it for poor performances though it's a fact. Being in that space where he was omnipresent. Handling this emotionally is challenging. Overwhelming.”
