The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.
The newest action-packed title that players explored was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for embracing violence and mayhem with similar excitement, all while telling engaging, politically driven stories. Little surprise that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry anthology series pulled in two creators whose projects have exemplified all of those elements.
Show Details
Based on Ubisoft's hit video game property, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' structure by introducing a new setting and group of personalities in every instalment.
Creative Minds
Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also appear in the show, but as of now, we do not know what role that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the showrunner.
“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly generous, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their steady confidence and backing.”
“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style show. Every title is a interpretation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a variation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can evolve from year to year, while always delving into the essence of society through this multifaceted and chaotic viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to collaborate with Rob and bring our mutual irreverent, daring approach to the audience.”
A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
